India is vigorously advancing its National Green Hydrogen Mission, targeting the establishment of over 5 million metric tons (MMT) of green hydrogen production capacity and the addition of approximately 125 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. The mission, approved in January 2023, has an initial budget allocation of Rs 19,744 crore (approximately $2.3 billion) for the period up to 2029-30. Its successful implementation is projected to attract over Rs 8 trillion (approximately $9.5 billion) in investments and create more than 600,000 jobs.
