Unlike lithium-ion batteries, which excel at hourly storage, iron-air batteries are specialized for multi-day storage, making them complementary. Internationally, Ore Energy in Europe has raised $43 million for its first iron-air battery manufacturing facility and secured a 1GWh off-take agreement with Dutch energy supplier Budget Thuis, along with a 100-hour pilot at EDF Lab les Renardières.
