Key Findings
The primary achievement of Odyssey-3 is the demonstration of a driving policy trained on approximately 20 hours of generated video—without real sensors or roads—that successfully drove on actual streets in India. Beyond autonomous vehicles, the foundation model has been applied to humanoid autonomy via Flexion, robot-arm tasks involving recovery behaviors, indoor obstacle avoidance for drones, and interactive environments for AI agent training. Additionally, the model demonstrated behavioral transfer across games, including Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Sleeping Dogs.
Technical Details
Odyssey-3 employs an autoregressive diffusion transformer architecture, combining causal temporal prediction with diffusion-based spatial generation. To achieve real-time interaction speeds, the lab used adversarial distillation to train a student model. This allows the base tier to run at 832 × 480 pixels at 16 frames per second, while the Pro tier supports 1,280 × 720 resolution. As a foundation model, Odyssey-3 uses pretrained weights that generalize across different embodiments; adapting the model to new domains requires changing the control conditioning rather than retraining from scratch.
Benchmarks and Performance
On the Physics-IQ Verified benchmark, which tests physical experiments such as fluid dynamics and thermodynamics, Odyssey-3 achieved a score of 66.1 on the video-to-video track using a best-of-eight protocol. This is the highest absolute score reported for that track as of the launch date. The Pro model also recorded a self-reported score of 54.7 on the image-to-video track using the same best-of-eight protocol. On the WorldMark benchmark, the company claims leadership in three of four splits.
Significance and Outlook
The release of Odyssey-3 on October 8, 2026, represents a milestone in closing the sim-to-real gap. By proving that high-fidelity synthetic environments can produce real-road capable policies with minimal data volume, the technology significantly lowers the capital barrier for developing physical AI.
