The Class C drug manufacturing license permits Porton Advanced to undertake commercial production of CGT products, signifying that the company meets the stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements set by the NMPA. Porton Advanced boasts an extensive R&D and manufacturing footprint exceeding 20,000 square meters, equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure essential for CGT product manufacturing. Specifically, the company operates 10 viral vector production lines and 12 independent Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) cell therapy suites.
The viral vector production lines are designed for the large-scale, high-quality manufacturing of essential gene therapy vectors such as adeno-associated virus (AAV) and lentiviral vectors. Simultaneously, the GMP cell therapy suites facilitate sterile and strictly controlled manufacturing of cell therapy products, minimizing the risk of cross-contamination. These facilities and capabilities enable Porton Advanced to support the entire complex CGT manufacturing process, from cell line development, process development, and analytical development to quality control, clinical trial material manufacturing, and ultimately, commercial production.
